Tasks Completed:

  • Refined player movement (1 hour)

  • Set up attack mechanics for the player (2 hours)

  • Set up enemy collisions with player and tied it into the health monitoring (5 hour)

  • Added player attack animations (1 hour)

  • Added teddy bear enemy sprites (1 hour)

  • Bug fixes (1 hour)

Positive: What went right for you and your team this week? This personal introspection should be honest and constructive.

I think a positive from this week was that was able to get the attacking mechanics and functionality working in time. I also think it was great that Emily was able to get a separate task board created that gets into details about the specific things we want implemented.

Negative: What went wrong for you and your team this week? This personal introspection should be honest and constructive.

I think this week was the most difficult in terms of gameplay progression. With other classes and midterms, being the only one working on the functionality is becoming a lot to swing with major deliverables quickly approaching. I also think as a team we could do a better job at flushing out exactly what we want the mechanics and play style to be for each enemy and different phases of the game so we are all on the same page with that.

Focusing on the enemy interaction and vertical slice specific play mechanics. Fixing bugs
