PPJ #9: Kerri

Kerri Kennedy, PPJ #9 (June 13, 2024)

What Went Right:

  1. We did a really good job at coordinating at the beginning of the weeks what we wanted to get done by the end of the weeks.

  2. As a team we were able to communicate well majority of the time.

  3. I think the assets being made and refined went pretty smoothly.

What Went Wrong:

  1. I think we could have done a better job in the earlier weeks at keeping each other updated throughout the week with our work.

  2. We should have focused as a team more on the gameplay/level design early on rather than mostly all the narrative and ideas.

  3. I think a lot of times when we were planning ahead, we would get ahead of ourselves and not consider the scope of things.

  4. It was hard only having one person programming the first 7 weeks but many ideas coming in and then not settling on a final decision early rather than later.

Lessons Learned:

  1. Make set decisions on any game changes early and give developing enough time for testing and any unforeseen issues.

  2. I think having one person being the final decision maker for many of the ideas and thoughts we had early on would have helped a lot.

  3. Too many options / open ended things can lead to confusion and last minute updates

  4. Better time management
