GDD Addition of Game Flow -

“The game’s flow will be linear, starting with a narrative exposition providing the context and motivation of the player going on this journey. The player will be led into a passive level where they may manage themselves before heading into a new explorative level. Once in an explorative level, they will encounter enemies and narrative scraps. At the end of these explorative levels, the player will enter a boss level, where they must fight the boss character presiding over the current explorative level. Defeating this boss will reward the player with story and mechanical progression, and send them back to the passive level to repeat the cycle.”

Positive: While I was preparing for this week, the team provided some really useful insights that led to me changing my plan for this week, which helped me more easily contribute towards our progress this week.

Negative: This week felt like we weren’t able to do as much as we had hoped, though I recognize this as a mixture of overscoping a bit for the first playable build, as well as the unfortunate timing of midterms for the others on the team.

Upcoming: This next week I wanna work with the programmers more closely to get the gameplay more fleshed out and realized, alongside my usual GDD updating.
